Celebrating Survivorship: Observing Breast Cancer Awareness Month

By Office of Communications & Marketing | Oct 27, 2025

Breast Cancer Awareness Month

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month, a time to confront one of the most common and serious diseases affecting women, and to celebrate the strength, survival, and resilience of those who face it. This observance reminds us that survivorship is about reclaiming health, embracing loved ones, and rediscovering joy in life after adversity. Survivorship carries a powerful message of hope, courage, and community that can transform struggle into strength.

This month, as we raise awareness about prevention and early detection, we empower individuals to take proactive steps, such as regular screenings, mammograms, and self-exams, which can save lives. Each act of prevention is an act of survival, and every survivor’s story becomes a beacon of hope, reminding us why recognition, research, and community support are critical in the fight against breast cancer.

Breast Cancer Awareness Month brings together survivors, patients, caregivers, and advocates to raise awareness and support. It highlights advances in research, treatment, and support services. Through events, fundraising, and wearing pink ribbons, we join the global effort to improve the lives of those affected by breast cancer.
