Please join me in congratulating Heidi J. Aronin, MPA, Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer, on being named to City & State New York’s 2026 Trailblazers in Higher Education list, which recognizes higher education leaders whose contributions are making a lasting impact across New York State.

City & State recognized Heidi’s leadership role in advancing Downstate’s transformation at a pivotal moment in our history.

As Chief Administrative Officer, Heidi led the development of Downstate’s strategic plan, creating a roadmap for modernization while advancing critical efforts to improve technology infrastructure, enhance campus operations, strengthen labor partnerships, and support the University’s research enterprise.

This recognition reflects Heidi’s steady leadership, strategic vision, and deep commitment to ensuring that Downstate continues to serve as Brooklyn’s academic medical center while preparing for the future of healthcare, education, research, and patient care.

Congratulations, Heidi, on this well-deserved honor. Thank you for your leadership, and we are proud to see you recognized among New York’s higher education trailblazers.
