NASPA Names New Region II Director

Putman, Ed.D., Vice President for Academic and Student Affairs, who is now the new Director for Region II of the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA). As NASPA Region II Director, Dr. Putman will serve on the NASPA Board of Directors for the 2023-2025 board term, which began on April 3 during the NASPA National Conference in Boston.

NASPA is the leading voice for student affairs administrators. As a professional association for student affairs practitioners, it drives innovation and evidence-based, student-centered practice throughout higher education, nationally and globally. 

As Regional Director for Region II, Dr. Putman will represent the interests of student affairs educators in Delaware, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Washington, DC, and West Virginia to the NASPA Board of Directors. He has been involved in the national organization and has been a Region II Advisory Board member for over 25 years.

Dr. Putman earned an Ed.D. in higher and postsecondary education, an Ed.M. and M.A. in higher education administration from Teachers College at Columbia University, and a B.S. in political science from SUNY Purchase College. He has served in multiple NASPA roles since 1997, including as the graduate student representative, newsletter editor, regional conference programs chair and local arrangements chair, technology knowledge regional community representative, secretary, and a NASPA History Advisory Committee member. In 2020, NASPA named Dr. Putman a Pillar of the Student Affairs Profession.
