COM Medical Education Program Receives LCME Accreditation

Congratulations to College of Medicine (COM) Dean F. Charles Brunicardi, M.D., FACS, and its faculty, staff, and students, on COM’s full accreditation of its medical education program from the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME). COM received accreditation for eight years through Academic Year 2028-29.

The College had previously received full accreditation, requiring it to submit a formal report to the LCME on its progress on new initiatives implemented to improve the medical education learning environment.

Thanks to the tireless efforts of many faculty, students, residents, staff, and colleagues from our affiliated institutions, the College identified and strengthened areas to provide the best possible education for our medical students.

The LCME positively reviewed the College’s report on these improvements and extended the accreditation status through 2028-29.
