According to its website, the fellowship addresses knowledge gaps among African American and Latino nurse professionals, aiming to equip Fellows to promote brain health in their communities. Latino and African Americans are estimated to comprise 40 percent of Alzheimer’s patients in the United States by 2030; the fellowship program was created in partnership with the National Black Nurses Association (NBNA), the National Association of Hispanic Nurses (NAHN), and an interdisciplinary network of experts.
