Kijana Corbin Honored as a 2026 NAHSE New York Men of Distinction Award Recipient

The annual award recognizes healthcare leaders whose dedication, service, and commitment make a lasting difference for their organizations, their communities, and the people they serve.

Since being promoted to Associate Vice President of Hospital Facilities in 2024, Kijana has helped lead the teams responsible for maintaining and improving the campus environment that supports every aspect of Downstate's mission. From patient care spaces and classrooms to research facilities and infrastructure, his work helps ensure that our students, faculty, staff, patients, and visitors have safe, reliable, and welcoming environments every day.

His leadership has been especially valuable as Downstate moves forward with its transformation, helping prepare and maintain the physical foundation for the next chapter in our University's history.

Kijana was recognized alongside healthcare leaders from Northwell Health, NYC Health + Hospitals, and other organizations during the NAHSE New York Regional Chapter's Men of Distinction celebration at Sylvia's Restaurant in Harlem.

This recognition reflects Kijana's excellence and his commitment to leadership, service, and making a positive impact on the Downstate community.
