Opportunity Programs

Economically Disadvantaged First Professional Study (EDPS) for Medicine/Dentistry

Limited resources are available for New York State Opportunity Program graduates who are pursuing first professional study programs. Such programs may include: Medicine (COM). Priority in the program will go first to students in :

  • EOP — New York State Educational Opportunity Program
  • HEOP — Higher Education Opportunity Program;
  • SEEK — Search for Education, Evaluation and Knowledge program; or the
  • College Discovery Program

Graduate Opportunity Program (GOP)

To further expand educational opportunity and to promote graduate and professional study, tuition assistance is provided to students who are graduates of the Educational Opportunity Program or similar New York State programs. Funding support is contingent upon the availability of resources and attendance at a participating SUNY campus that awards graduates degrees.

Check back for the 2023-2024 GOP application in early 2023.

To be considered for transfer to the Graduate Opportunity Program, an applicant must be enrolled as a full-time graduate student. To qualify, the applicant must submit an EOP verification form.

The form must completed by an official of the school at which the applicant participated in one of the following programs:

  • EOP — New York State Educational Opportunity Program
  • HEOP — Higher Education Opportunity Program;
  • SEEK — Search for Education, Evaluation and Knowledge program; or the
  • College Discovery Program
