Downstate's School of Graduate Studies application is open each year from early September to December 1st, and offers doctoral degrees in:
- Neural and behavioral science, which features neuroscience research at both the molecular and behavioral level.
- Molecular and cellular biology, which offers concentrations in cardiovascular science, fundamental cellular and molecular biology, cancer biology and more.
In addition, a joint MD/Ph.D. program combines a Downstate medical degree with a doctorate these fields.
