Division Highlights

Our faculty are Board Certified and specialty trained to provide expert, compassionate care in a construct of education, mentorship and partnership with Downstate Health Sciences University residents and students.

Our trainees participate in all phases of patient care, including:

• Initial assessment in the clinic, emergency department, or in the hospital.
• Preoperative patient assessment, work-up and management.
• Intraoperative and postoperative management of complex surgical pathologies.
  
  

Our advanced-care providers provide support for discharge planning, care-coordination with the social services and patient placement, when appropriate.
