The Division of Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the State University of New York Downstate Health Sciences University offers comprehensive clinical facilities to Brooklyn's diverse patient population. Our doctors provide a full range of pulmonary services through our ambulatory outpatient clinics and inpatient consultative services. In addition, our team delivers the most advanced critical care expertise to inpatients in the Medical Intensive Care Unit and Stepdown Service at University Hospital. The academic and clinical faculty of the division is committed to medical education through the internal medicine and anesthesiology residency training program and our own pulmonary and critical care fellowship training program.

SUNY Downstate's Pulmonary and Critical Care Fellowship is one of the largest in the nation and provides care to six major medical centers in Brooklyn. The division is dedicated to advancing the field of medicine through our state of the art research facilities located in the Basic Science Building of Downstate Health Sciences University. Our research faculty are leaders and pioneers in lung immunology, pulmonary circulation, lipid biology and COPD research. The division's researchers provide basic-science and clinical research training electives to medical students, rotating medical residents, and pulmonary and critical care fellows. Our faculty, fellows and staff take pride in providing the best and most compassionate care and we strive every day to make new, innovative discoveries that will improve our patients' lives in the future.
