Sports Medicine Fellowship

sports_medicine

The SUNY Downstate Sports Medicine Fellowship is part of the Division of Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery and Rehabilitation Medicine.

The fellowship is designed to provide prospective candidates a one-year immersion into sports medicine and non-operative musculoskeletal care in the setting of the diverse borough of Brooklyn. The program begins in July and ends in July of the following year. The unique program is multidisciplinary and offers sports medicine training with physicians in PM&R, Family Medicine, Emergency Medicine, and Orthopedics.

Downstate PM&R residents often train side by side with the sports fellows, and work closely with the sports medicine attendings. There are numerous opportunities to overlap in training, patient care, and education.
