Stroke Center Fellowship
Description
SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University offers two 1-2 year Stroke Fellowship positions. The first year is ACGME approved and satisfies the requirements of the ABPN Vascular Neurology Board examination. The second year is optional and allows the fellows to pursue a personal research project under the mentorship of one of our faculty. The fellowship offers comprehensive training in the clinical diagnosis and management of cerebrovascular diseases. Fellows participate in acute stroke management, inpatient stroke unit, outpatient stroke clinic, and consultation to other services. They have the opportunity to participate in non-invasive cerebrovascular evaluation, interventional neuroradiology and telestroke. Several NIHS-funded clinical trials and basic neuroscience research projects are available.
