Doctor of Nursing Practice Program
Admission Requirements
BS to DNP (FNP or WHNP Concentration)
- A Bachelor of Science degree in Nursing from colleges or universities accredited by one of the following: The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), the New England Commission on Higher Education (NECHE), The Higher Learning Commission (HLC), the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU), the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) or the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC), United States Department of Education (USDE).
- A current unencumbered New York State R.N. license.
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) card/certificate for BLS for Healthcare Provider or ACLS.
- You must submit two (2) letters or recommendation. One letter must be written by: A current/former supervisor within the past 3 years, who can comment on your clinical abilities and/or your potential success in graduate nursing education; the second letter can be written by an additional supervisor or a current/former college university science professor within the last 3 years.
- One (1) year clinical experience post baccalaureate degree is preferred.
- Cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale preferred.

MS to DNP (Post Master's DNP)
- Master of Science degree in Nursing from colleges or universities accredited by one of the following: The Middle States Commission on Higher Education (MSCHE), the New England Commission on Higher Education (NECHE), The Higher Learning Commission (HLC), the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities (NWCCU), the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC) or the Accrediting Commission for Community and Junior Colleges (ACCJC), United States Department of Education (USDE).

- Cumulative Master's level Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.0.
- Current unencumbered New York State R.N. license.
- Current unencumbered New York State Nurse Practitioner license in the specialty of either Family Health or Women's Health.
- A current American Heart Association (AHA) card/certificate for BLS for Healthcare Provider or ACLS.
