Technical computing and analysis software, including interactive calculation, visualization tools, and a complete programming environment. Participation in this program provides a campus with licensing for all campus-owned and operated academic machines (faculty, academic staff, and lab computers), as well as faculty, academic staff and student home use.

Licensing

For a participating campus, licensing covers all campus-owned or operated computers used primarily for teaching, or directly in support of the teaching process (labs, office computers used by faculty or by staff preparing teaching materials for faculty).

Students

Students are granted licenses for the Student Version of Mathematica on Macintosh, Windows and Linux platforms. PI must provide a copy of the Mathematica License Agreement for the Student Version when distributing the software to students. Students are entitled to upgrades, updates and new releases of the software while they are students and the SUNY contract is in effect. When the contract is terminated, or the student leaves the University, the student must uninstall the software.

Faculty/Staff

For a participating campus, licensing covers all campus-owned or operated computers used primarily for teaching, or directly in support of the teaching process (labs, office computers used by faculty or by staff preparing teaching materials for faculty). Participating campuses are entitled to updates, upgrades and new releases of the software for the duration of the SUNY contract. Authorized users include faculty and academic staff (persons employed by SUNY to support faculty members in the direct instruction of SUNY students, and for whom access to Products is necessary to perform the instruction support function). Faculty may receive free home use licenses upon request. These licenses will be valid for the duration of the SUNY contract. Should the SUNY contract be terminated or expire, faculty may purchase permanent licenses at a 50% discount.
