The FM&D's Design & Construction Division provides architectural and engineering support on matters pertaining to:

• Construction
• Renovation
• Design

The Design & Construction division is responsible for all construction and alteration work throughout the Downstate Medical Center Complex. Engineering assistance to the institution is provided, including the physical plant, on matters pertaining to construction, renovation, or design. Design and Construction employs a team of Architects, Engineers, and Project Managers with responsibilities that include life safety and building code enforcement and design and construction administration.
