Downstate Joins Community Baby Shower and Resource Fair in Partnership With Sleep Safe Initiative

SUNY Downstate participated in a Community Baby Shower and Resource Fair in Partnership With Sleep Safe Initiative” at Garden 54 with NYS Assemblymember Monique Chandler-Wateman. The event provided valuable information on maternal-child care to expectant parents and those with infants and children. SUNY Downstate and other community partners/vendors offered services such as blood pressure screening, free maternal-child care resources, and giveaways, including diapers, informational materials, books, raffles, and more. The event served as a platform for the community to connect with organizations like Downstate, specializing in maternal-child care services, expectant family education classes, doula services, and breastfeeding support.

Thank you to Sarah Marshall, DNP, MS, RNC and Betty Jung, RN (Center for Community Health Promotion and Wellness), Haleesah Gibson and Michelle King (MPH Students), and Melissa Rojas and Vicente Marshall (Volunteer Dept.) for sharing our available resources at University Hospital at Downstate.
