For Recipients

Getting a new kidney can improve your life in ways big and small. But once your transplant is complete, you'll need to recover and adjust.

When your journey to a new kidney is finally complete, the symptoms that you learned to live with—fatigue, loss of appetite, insomnia—will go away. Dialysis will also become part of your past.

But your work isn't done. We'll continue to work closely with you after the transplant to make sure your new kidney is functioning at its best.

And while we'll be available 24/7, the biggest factor in the success of your new kidney is you. You may have to adjust your diet and activities to ensure your transplant works. You will have to stay on top of your medications, exercise, and overall general health.
