Dr. Emam is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation with subspecialty in Sports Medicine. After receiving his medical degree from Cairo University, he completed his residency at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York where he has received the resident of the year award. He went on to complete fellowship training in non-operative Sports Medicine subspecialty at Albert Einstein College of Medicine.
Dr. Emam has cared for professional Olympic level athletes as well as recreational athletes. As a previous professional athlete himself, Dr. Emam understands the impact of injuries on athletes at all levels and follows an individualized treatment plan for athletes with goal of returning patients to activities as quickly and safely as possible. He focuses on maximizing patient’s function and optimizing quality of life through a comprehensive patient centered treatment plan and patient education.
Dr. Emam specializes in treating musculoskeletal and spine conditions with particular interest in minimally invasive ultrasound guided procedures for diagnosis and treatment. His clinical interests also include regenerative medicine treatments such as platelet rich plasma injections for treating various musculoskeletal conditions. Dr. Emam serves as an attending physician for PSAL’s Brooklyn high school football teams and is the team physician for SUNY Maritime College.
