Department of Urology Faculty

The Core Faculty are Foundational Members of the Academic Executive Committee (AEC). The AEC’s mission is to maximize the Downstate Urology residents’ educational experience by:

• Continuously identifying internal opportunities or weaknesses within our current educational networks (affiliates)
• Identify and integrate external potential opportunities and or best practices into our curriculum.
• Modify current experiences in our current educational network based on resident feedback, our Institutional / Departmental Mission, and Regulatory considerations.
• Monitor resident performance and progress through feedback obtained by affiliates within our educational network, and performance metrics (case logs, research, In-Service exams, Grand Rounds presentations.
• Ensure resident wellness
• Oversee the prospective resident selection process.
• Act as a repository for resident concerns and complaints, and suggestions. -Act as an intermediary between resident and affiliate institutions.
• Ensure compliance with ACGME mandates and other regulatory bodies
