Dr. Kirwin graduated from Tel Aviv University Sackler School of Medicine in 1984. He then pursued his general surgery residency at SUNY Downstate and Brooklyn Hospital Center, graduating as chief resident in 1991. He then completed his vascular surgery fellowship at Maimonides Medical Center in 1992. 

In addition to his clinical role, Dr. Kirwin serves as the Clerkship Director for College of Medicine.
