    Background

    Jessica J. Krant, MD, MPH is a board-certified dermatologist and Assistant Clinical Professor at SUNY Downstate Medical Center as well as a Fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology (FAAD), Fellow of the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery (ASDS), Fellow of the American College of Mohs Surgery (ACMS), and member of the Women's Dermatologic Society (WDS).

    After graduating from Harvard College magna cum laude, Dr. Krant went on to obtain her M.D. at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons where she graduated with Alpha Omega Alpha national medical society honors. While at Columbia, Dr. Krant also attended the Columbia University Mailman School of Public Health and obtained a Master's Degree in Public Health concentrating in Health Policy. Following internship at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, Dr. Krant completed dermatology residency training at SUNY Downstate Medical Center and a full American College of Mohs Surgery Fellowship.

    Dr. Krant has enjoyed continuing on the faculty at Downstate since residency, while pursuing solo private practice in Manhattan. In addition to enjoying seeing patients and teaching residents, Dr. Krant is involved with health policy and health care reform at several levels. She currently serves as the sole Delegate to the American Medical Association for the ASDS – representing dermatologic surgeons among all physicians nationally, is currently serving on the Congressional Policy Committee of the AAD, and is a newly appointed member of the Board of the New York County Medical Society, working together with physicians of different specialties to advance access to quality care for all patients.
