Dr. Clinton D. Brown is a nephrologist, clinical lipidologist and professor of medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. During his tenure at SUNY Downstate, Dr Brown has held several administrative positions including, Medical Director of Ambulatory Hemodialysis Services, Director of the Brooklyn Health Disparities Center, Presiding Officer of the Executive Committee, Director of the Lipid Clinic and Chairman of the Institutional Review Board. He is currently Deputy Chief of Nephrology.
Dr. Brown completed his residency training in Internal Medicine at Harlem Hospital and his clinical fellowship in Nephrology at SUNY Downstate Medical Center. He then completed a research fellowship as a Rockefeller Scholar in investigative lipidology at the Rockefeller University.
Dr. Brown has contributed over one hundred scholarly publications. He is a fellow in: the American Society of Nephrology, the American Heart Association and the National Lipid Association, and a faculty member of Alpha Omega Alpha. His research focus is atherosclerosis and kidney disease.
