Legal Aspects of Prescriptive Authority

This course is temporarily suspended.  We expect it to be offered again in the spring semester (early 2022).

COURSE DESCRIPTION: This online course provides the legal basis for prescriptive authority through distance learning. An online exam will be offered upon completion of the home study material. This offering meets the New York State requirements for obtaining prescriptive authority by those candidates who have already completed a 45 hour pharmacology course.

Course cost: $100.00

Students will receive a certificate of completion after successfully completing the examination. Those students who require additional verification of course completion for New York State midwifery licensure must forward the required New York State Department of Education form to the Midwifery Program and include a $15.00 check payable to Research Foundation (RF) for SUNY; Memo: Midwifery Program.  This fee covers the registrar's administrative charge.
