Imaging Services at University Hospital of Brooklyn

The Department of Radiology provides a full range of diagnostic and interventional/therapeutic procedures. The department is equipped with state-of-the-art imaging technology in all of its divisions and is staffed with experienced radiologists practicing in subspecialty areas of diagnostic imaging. All of the physicians in the department are board certified.

Diagnostic Radiology is organized into the divisions of Adult Radiology (chest and bone), Pediatric Radiology, Neuroradiology, Ultrasound, Gastrointestinal Radiology, Uroradiology, Computerized Tomography/ Magnetic Resonance Imaging, Nuclear Medicine, Sonography, Special Procedures/ Interventional Radiology and Mammography.

Adult Radiology

718-270-3122
The physicians are available for “problem solving” in all aspects of diagnostic imaging. The radiologists in this division specialize in skeletal, chest and plain film radiography. Their responsibility is to help the referring physician determine the appropriate diagnostic/therapeutic approach for patient workup.

Computerized Tomography / Magnetic Resonance Imaging

718-270-4438
The Division of Cross Sectional Body Imaging, utilizing both computerized tomography and magnetic resonance imaging, offers consultative services with access to the most recent developments in the technology. The department is equipped with two Philips Brilliance 64 MultiSlice CT Scanners, and a Siemens 1.5 Tesla MRI Scanner.

Interventional / Angiography

718-270-8292
The interventionalist members of the department supply a complex series of services from basic diagnostic angiographic imaging for the detection of occlusive vascular disease to the more involved aspects of percutaneous abscess drainage, angioplasty and stenting procedures for obstructed luminal strictures, to note a few. Please contact the appropriate member of the division for detailed discussion of the patient’s problem in order to establish the appropriate treatment protocol.

Gastrointestinal

718-270-3122
The physicians perform all contrast studies of the gastrointestinal tract. High resolution mucosal imaging is available for detailed studies of the upper and lower gastrointestinal tract.

Mammography

718-270-1620 / 7333
The physicians supply imaging and biopsy procedures with state-of-the-art technology.

Nuclear Medicine

718-270-1633
All isotopic procedures approved by the licensing agencies are performed by the physicians in this division. The division is equipped with state-of-the-art imaging, including SPECT and PET technology.

Pediatric Radiology

718-270-3122
The pediatric radiologist functions in a similar manner to the adult radiologist, but is limited to the pediatric age group. Also, the pediatric radiologist performs many of the subspecialty studies (e.g., sonography).

Ultrasound

718-270-3122
The physicians perform consultative services in all aspects of diagnostic ultrasound. This includes standard anatomic imaging, duplex doppler, colorflow doppler and intracavitary imaging (e.g., transvaginal, transrectal, etc.).
