Optical Tomography Group 

The Optical Tomography Group (OTG) is part of the Pathology Department at the SUNY Downstate Medical Center at Brooklyn. Led by Dr. Randall Barbour, the OTG develops methods and instrumentation for imaging human tissue by optical tomography, a nonionizing diagnostic tool. Optical Tomography is capable of functional imaging and a particularly interesting technique because it provides cross-sectional views of physiological processes unobtainable with other methods. Research projects are being conducted in close collaboration with other researching groups and clinical facilities at Downstate.
