Dr. Dale Blackstock Lecture and Award Ceremony 

In celebration of Women's History Month, the Office for Institutional Equity sponsors an annual lecture and award ceremony each March to publicly dynamic women for their contributions to Downstate and the surrounding community. 

The program honors the legacy of Dale Blackstock, M.D., internist, nephrologist, geriatrician, and member of the faculty in the Department of Medicine at Downstate in the 1980's and 1990's.

Lavender Graduation

Since 2019, the Office for Institutional Equity collaborated with faculty and Downstate's PRIDE Club to host an annual graduation ceremony in celebration of the achievements and contributions of Downstate's LGBTQ+ community.
