Downstate Planning a Slam Dunk at ACGME 2025
By Office of the President | Oct 1, 2024
Team GME Downstate is ready to suit up for a slam dunk at the 2025 ACGME Educational Conference, set to take place at the Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee, from February 20-22, 2025. Our Downstate all-star RPCF executive members lineup—Natalie Arrindell, Juliet Arthur, Chantal Littrean, and Kino Williams—will take center court to deliver the highly anticipated closing Coordinator Plenary on Day One of the conference.
With over 2,000 program coordinators and administrators expected in the audience, this event is Downstate’s chance to show—yet again—why we remain champions in Graduate Medical Education (GME).
Their session, titled “How to Slam Dunk Professional Development Initiatives,” will empower attendees to take their career game to the next level. Participants can expect a playbook filled with strategies for career advancement, networking, collaboration, and practical skill application. The team will highlight the successful track record of RPCF’s four annual education retreats and drive home the importance of leadership support in elevating professional development efforts within GME.
The ACGME Educational Conference is the largest gathering of GME professionals worldwide, offering a full court of curated content for beginners and seasoned pros. The 2025 theme, “Meaning in Medicine,” focuses on aligning personal and professional values, promoting well-being, and fostering collaboration in healthcare. Attendees will dive into sessions covering diversity, equity, inclusion, crisis management, and more, all designed to shape the future of academic medicine.
Downstate commands this spotlight—our administrators delivered a standout performance at last year’s ACGME conference with their session, “Creating a Coordinator Forum–Giving Program Coordinators a Voice in the GME Community.” With 155 attendees and a spot among the highest-rated sessions in 2024, the pressure is on for this year’s plenary to be even more successful.
Downstate’s dynamic leaders are ready to bring their A-game again, leading the charge with innovative ideas and fresh approaches to graduate medical education. Though the NBA All-Star game will happen a week before the ACGME Conference, we are confident our team will bring home their own All-Star game trophy.
