Thank you to Michael H. Augenbraun, M.D., Vice Chair of the Department of Medicine, and Rami Nakeshbandi, M.D., MHA, FACP, Chief Quality Officer, and Associate Chief Medical Officer, along with the Department of Infectious Diseases Team. They recently met with a delegation from Tokyo’s public health community to discuss Downstate’s response to the COVID pandemic. This meeting was significant because the Japanese delegation sought the perspective of a frontline healthcare facility after meeting with representatives from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to understand how such facilities coped with COVID-19’s impact on operations.
