I had the pleasure of doing an initial walkthrough of the ongoing cafeteria renovations that began over a year ago. Seeing the progress made was exciting, and I am looking forward to a future ribbon-cutting and a meal in this new space!

The new Cafeteria Servery and Dining Area will include a revamped layout designed for efficiency and comfort, complete with modern equipment, counters, and furnishings, as well as an expansive range of cuisine offerings catering to diverse tastes and dietary requirements. Dedicated spaces for executive conferences and private meetings will add professional touches to the dining areas and elevate the dining experience for students, staff, faculty, and visitors. Extended meal hours and designated “hangout” spaces are more exciting features to anticipate.

Once completed, the new cafeteria promises to be more than just a dining spot—it is poised to become a lively center for engagement, interaction, and collaboration. Renovations are currently in the Phase 2 stage, with anticipated completion in spring 2025.

Thank you to the team in FM&D, including James Minto, vice president for Facilities, Management, and Development, Raymond Michelitsch, director of Design and Construction, and Alesia Varga, project manager.
