The SUNY Downstate - Bay Ridge Ambulatory Surgery Center is a full-service, multispecialty outpatient surgical facility. We are specially designed for surgery that does not require an overnight hospital stay.

We are located on the 1st floor of the former Victory Memorial Hospital, at 7th Avenue and 92nd Street. The existing facility has been completely renovated, and now features a comfortable, attractive, and professional environment for both patients and physicians, along with a comfortable waiting room for patients' families.

Our hours are 6 AM to 6 PM, Monday through Friday, although we remain open until all post-operative patients are safely and comfortably discharged. With seven operating rooms and the latest in equipment and monitors, we are able to perform almost any procedure suitable for outpatient surgery – safely, efficiently, and with patients' comfort in mind. Our staff is trained in all aspects of surgical care for everyone–from young children to senior citizens.

Our Center has been developed under strict guidelines, required for Medicare certification and in accordance with the Standards of Care and Practice recommended by professional operating room organizations, including the American Society of Anesthesiology, the Association of Operating Room Nurses, and the Association of Perioperative Nurses.

We work closely with our surgeons and anesthesiologists, and use a strict quality assurance protocol to determine if patients are good candidates for same day surgery, or if they would be better served by having their surgery performed in a formal hospital setting.
