Delphine Mendez de Leon, RN, MBA, MPH

University Hospital at Downstate

    Ms. Mendez de Leon is responsible for leading development, implementation, monitoring and communication of the University Hospital at Downstate (UHD) Strategic Plan. In this role, she facilitates the ongoing management, and monitoring of our strategic and sustaining initiatives and outcomes. Her role is responsible for ensuring that these strategic plans and tactics align with the vision, mission, and goals of the hospital and Downstate Health. Ms. Mendez de Leon leads the Strategic Growth Driver, including defining and executing internal service line and network development initiatives aimed at expansion, addressing clinical and social determinant of health needs of the residents of Brooklyn.

    She holds a BS, MBA and MPH from Colombia University and is on the Board of Trustees of the Columbia University School of Nursing. Previous accomplishments include academic medical center strategic and specialty program planning, organizational restructuring, operational turnarounds and performance improvement, network development, clinical integration and facility construction. Her professional experience includes Business Development Lead, Data Activation Technology Company, COO, National Public Nursing School, Managing Director, National Consulting Company, Vice President, The Brooklyn Hospital Center, Senior Director, NYU Medical Center, and Nursing Practitioner at St. Luke’s Hospital.
