Inci Dersu, MD, MPH

Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology

Dr. Dersu is an American Board certified ophthalmologist and fellowship trained glaucoma specialist. She was the director of glaucoma service and inaugural recipient of John Nutt Endowed Chair at the University of Arkansas before joining SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University in 2013. She specializes in medical and surgical treatment of all types of glaucoma in addition to performing cataract surgery. A recipient of American Glaucoma Society led Patient Care Improvement Project award, her goal is to provide high quality patient centered care by using the latest available technology. Dr. Dersu has been named one of the Best Doctors  by the Castle-Connolly Guide.

Dr. Dersu has passion to mentor and teach students and residents. She is the recipient of the Diversity in Medicine Mentorship Award in addition to Graduate Medical Education Teacher of the Year Award.
