Dr. Emily Kurlansik is an Assistant Professor of Neurology and neuropsychologist at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. She is a licensed psychologist in New York and holds specialty certifications as a Board-Certified Behavior Analyst and Nationally Certified School Psychologist.
Dr. Kurlansik specializes in comprehensive neuropsychological assessment of children, adolescents, and young adults with neurological, neurodevelopmental, psychiatric, and comorbid conditions. She provides neuropsychological evaluations for pediatric patients presenting with a wide variety of conditions, including cerebral palsy, epilepsy, head injuries, congenital malformations, CNS tumors, autism, learning disabilities, ADHD, language impairments, and mood disorders. Dr. Kurlansik offers a holistic, team-based approach to care and closely collaborates with families, healthcare providers, and educators to ensure the highest quality care for her patients.
As Co-Director of the Learning Disabilities/Neurobehavior Clinic, Dr. Kurlansik provides multidisciplinary care, consultation, and triage services for children and their families. She has also served as a supervisor for SUNY Downstate’s neuropsychology externship program.
Dr. Kurlansik earned her Doctor of Psychology degree from Rutgers University Graduate School of Applied and Professional Psychology (GSAPP). She completed her postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at Columbia University Irving Medical Center.
