Dr. Kay is co-associate program director of the Downstate at OBH Neurology Residency program. His clinical expertise is in general neurology and routine EEG interpretation.  This past year he stepped down from his role as Chairman of Neurology at OBH, serving as head of neurology for 36 years. 

In his present, part-time role, Dr. Kay spends 3 days a week supervising/mentoring neurology residents and medical students in general neurology clinic and on the general neurology consult service at Brookdale Hospital. He also teaches routine EEG interpretation.  Dr. Kay earned his medical degree from SUNY-Downstate, completed his neurology residency at Mount Sinai Medical Center in NYC, and for 2 years was a research fellow in brain aging and dementia at the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke division of the National Institutes of Health.
