Vikram Pagpatan, EdD, OTR/L, BCP, ATP, FAOTA, BCCS, CLA is an Associate Professor and Admissions Coordinator in the Occupational Therapy Program at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. A nationally recognized clinician-scholar, Dr. Pagpatan’s work focuses on the intersections of functional biomechanics, assistive technology, and person-centered rehabilitation across the lifespan. His research and teaching emphasize interprofessional collaborations, evidence-based practice, and culturally responsive approaches to care. 

Board-certified in pediatrics, cognitive disorders for both adults and children, and as well as nationally credentialed in assistive technology, Dr. Pagpatan holds multiple advanced certifications that reflect his depth of clinical and scholarly expertise. He is an active author and contributor to several contemporary textbooks in assistive technology, pediatrics, rehabilitation sciences, and occupational therapy education, with work that advances the profession’s understanding of interdependence, technology integration, and inclusive design. He currently serves as an appointed member of the New York State Department of Education Occupational Therapy Board in which he strives to protect, educate, and enhance how the practice impacts clinicians, students, and consumers within the state. His clinical background spans acute care, rehabilitation, pediatrics, and community-based practice, and he is a Fellow of the American Occupational Therapy Association whose scholarship promotes health equity, meaningful participation, and innovation across diverse practice environments.
