Personal Statement:
Jason C. Vladescu, Ph.D., BCBA-D, NCSP, LBA (NY), is the Founding Chair and Professor
of the Applied Behavior Analysis Program at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University.
He completed his pre-doctoral internship and post-doctoral fellowship at the University
of Nebraska Medical Center’s Munroe-Meyer Institute.
Jason has authored more than 100 peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters
and has written or edited four books spanning applied behavior analysis, statistics,
and verbal behavior. He is the 2020 recipient of the B.F. Skinner Foundation New Researcher
Award. He currently serves as Editor-in-Chief of Behavior Analysis in Practice and
previously served as an Associate Editor for Behavior Analysis in Practice and the
Journal of Applied Behavior Analysis. He has served on the editorial boards of nine
journals.
Outside the lab and classroom, Jason enjoys traveling with his wife, discovering new
stories through books, science, and people, and spending his downtime playing pickleball
or enjoying great pizza and coffee.
