Safak Reka, MD is an Assistant Professor of Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University. Dr. Reka is a GI Attending in the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology. Dr. Reka received her medical degree from the Hacettepe College of Medicine, Ankara, Turkey (1972 - 1976). She completed her residency in Medicine at St. Luke's - Roosevelt Hospital Center (1993 - 1996) and did her fellowship in Gastroenterology at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University (1996 - 1999).
Dr. Reka is trained in all general endoscopic techniques. Her Career / Research Interests: Colon cancer screening, esophageal disorders, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), abdominal pain, colon polyp, diarrhea, constipation, gastrointestinal bleeding, liver diseases, EGD, colonoscopy.
