Dr. Muchatuta joined the department faculty following the completion of a prestigious Global Emergency Medicine Fellowship at Stanford University, California. She brings a wealth of expertise shaped by her international lived experiences and specialized background in Global Emergency Medicine (EM), with a strong focus on equity in advancing the field.
Dr. Muchatuta is a key member of the Global EM and Disaster Medicine divisions, where she is dedicated to fostering sustainable, culturally sensitive, and equitable programming to enhance quality emergency medicine development worldwide. Her contributions include designing and delivering impactful training initiatives in Myanmar, Cambodia, Rwanda, and Zimbabwe, where she has lectured extensively on topics ranging from emergency care and disaster response to the decolonization of medical education.
As Faculty Director of the Mini-Fellowships program, she mentors residents pursuing careers in Global EM and leads a fall lecture series for second-year medical students in the Global Health Elective Pathway. Through these roles, she aims to inspire the next generation of emergency care providers to engage in meaningful, globally conscious work in the field of emergency medicine.
