Dr. Desai, D.O, MSEd is the Assistant Program Director of the Emergency Medicine Residency at SUNY Downstate/Kings County Hospital, and Assistant Clinical Professor at SUNY Downstate College of Medicine. Dr. Desai earned her medical degree from the University of New England College of Osteopathic Medicine, and went on to complete her residency training in Emergency Medicine at St. Joseph's University Medical Center, where she served as Chief Resident and developed a passion for medical education. She then completed a two-year fellowship in Medical Education at Maimonides Medical Center and earned a Masters in Medical Education at the University of Pennsylvania.

Dr. Desai now serves as the Assistant Program Director of the EM Residency where she mentors numerous residents and medical students, works to bridge knowledge gaps in clinical training, emphasizes bedside teaching and practicing evidence-based medicine, and works with residency leadership to optimize the training experience for the residents.
