After completing her fellowship in Pediatric Emergency Medicine at Jacobi Medical Center, Dr. Chao came to SUNY Downstate where she helped to start the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship. As faculty, she has played a key role in research, education as well as administration for the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Division. She has published 32 peer reviewed papers, and has various other publications. Her current interests are ultrasound, advocacy and research.
