Dr. Berland, MD, MS is a Clinical Professor of Emergency Medicine and the Associate Division director of Medical Toxicology. Dr Berland earned his medical degree from New York University School of Medicine. Dr Berland completed his residency training in Emergency Medicine at SUNY Downstate - Kings County Hospital and completed his Fellowship training in Medical Toxicology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School - University Hospital in Newark NJ.

Dr Berland's research interest focuses are on substance use disorders specifically the opioid overdose epidemic, medical education, and Medical Toxicology.
