    Background

    Dr. Jane Schneider is a Board Certified dermatologist who focuses on general medical dermatology. A native of La Jolla, California, she graduated with honors from Harvard University, where she concentrated in English and American Literature and Language. She went on to earn an MFA in Theater Dramaturgy at the University of California, San Diego. Dr. Schneider then returned to school to receive her medical degree from Yale University School of Medicine. While there she was awarded the Norman Bailey Berniker Prize for exemplifying the precepts of Hippocrates and Maimonides, as well as a Janet M. Glasgow Memorial Achievement Citation (awarded to outstanding women in her class) and a Gershon Award, which supported a year of research. She completed her internship at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx, and went on to train in dermatology at SUNY Downstate in Brooklyn. In addition to seeing patients in private practice, Dr. Schneider serves as an attending physician at the Brooklyn Veterans Administration Hospital. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Dermatology and is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology.
