Dr. Alapati graduated from Guntur Medical College in Guntur, AP, India. She completed residencies in General Pathology (Anatomic and Clinical), Internal Medicine, and Dermatology at New York Medical College. She subsequently completed a Dermatopathology Fellowship with the renowned Dr. Bernard Ackerman at Jefferson Medical College. Dr. Alapati is a Board Certified in Dermatopathology, Dermatology, Anatomic and Clinical Pathology and Internal Medicine.
Dr. Alapati joined the Department of Dermatology at the Brooklyn VA in 1995, and she became the Chief of Dermatology in 1997. She also serves as the Dermatopathology consultant for the Pathology Department at the Brooklyn VA. In addition to her extensive clinical and administrative duties, Dr. Alapati takes on an active and enthusiastic role in teaching. Among her greatest accomplishments is providing guidance and dermatopathology education to her residents.
