Aleksander Feoktistov, MD, MBA, FACR, RhMSUS

Aleksander Feoktistov, MD, MBA, FACR, RhMSUS, is an Associate Clinical Professor of Medicine at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University and Director of the Division of Rheumatology at Kings County Hospital Center in Brooklyn, New York. Board certified in rheumatology, he completed his rheumatology fellowship at New York University/Hospital for Joint Diseases and his internal medicine residency at St. Luke’s/Roosevelt Hospital Center. He also holds an MBA, earned magna cum laude from the Charlton College of Business at UMass Dartmouth, and has completed advanced coursework in artificial intelligence in healthcare at Harvard and MIT.

Dr. Feoktistov’s clinical and academic work focuses on inflammatory arthritis, systemic autoimmune disease, musculoskeletal ultrasound, hospital rheumatology, and complex immune-mediated disorders. Since 2016, he has led rheumatology services at Kings County Hospital Center and directed musculoskeletal ultrasound training for the SUNY Downstate/KCHC Rheumatology Fellowship Program.

He has published peer-reviewed work in rheumatology, immunology, pulmonary manifestations of autoimmune disease, musculoskeletal ultrasound education, and neutrophil signaling. He has also serves as Co-Chair of the NYC Health + Hospitals Rheumatology Council and Director of its Research Committee.

Dr. Feoktistov is committed to clinical excellence, rigorous teaching, critical appraisal of medical literature, and the development of system-level rheumatology care. His current interests include artificial intelligence applications in healthcare, clinical research infrastructure, fellowship education, and improving access to high-quality rheumatology services in public hospital settings.
