Dr. Chinyere Agu is a clinical assistant Professor and board-certified Endocrinologist at State University of New York (SUNY) Downstate Health Sciences University.

Dr. Agu’s area of expertise is general endocrinology which includes, but not limited to, the treatment of diabetes, obesity, thyroid, adrenal & pituitary gland disorders as well as lipid, hormonal and bone disorders. She completed her fellowship in Endocrinology at SUNY Downstate.

Dr. Agu is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She received her medical degree from University of Nigeria College of Medicine and completed a 3-year residency program in Internal Medicine at Harlem Medical Center in Affiliation with Columbia University. She is a member of the American Association of Clinical Endocrinologists as well as Endocrine Society.

She is passionate about helping others regain their health, improving quality of life and providing excellent evidence-based care relative to patient needs.
