Dr. Patel is a native of Gujarat state in India, completed his high school in India and received his Bachelors of medicine and Bachelor of surgery degree (equivalent to MD) from Government Medical College, Bhavnagar (GMCB). He completed his Intern year of medical education clerkships in GMCB, including the underserved areas and Primary and Community health centers of the city of Bhavnagar. He has also completed a two-month-long clinical Externship at the Neurology and Neurodiagnostics in Park Ridge, Illinois and St Anthony hospital, Chicago IL. He was a visiting scholar at the University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) for 2 weeks. He is ECFMG certified and currently applying for medical residency in the U.S.
Dr. Patel currently works in support of New York State Department of Health-funded Center of Excellence for Alzheimer's Disease (CEAD) as a Patient Care Assistant and Research Assistant.
In addition to his dedication to patient care, Dr. Patel is also dedicated to academic works in psychiatry.
Dr. Patel is fluent in Gujarati, English, and Hindi.
