Instructions for the 2024 Downstate Research Colloquium

Participation in the 2024 Downstate Research Colloquium is mandatory for all students in the School of Graduate Studies who have reached their third year and is encouraged for all students in any Downstate college or school, Post-docs, Graduate Medical Fellows and Residents who have research to present.

Presentations

Poster presentations will be held in-person on April 17th. Oral presentations from students in the School of Graduate Studies will also take place that day.

Awards

SGS will award a limited number of prizes and travel fellowships to its students for the best presentations, as determined by judges. The Joe Ma and Sophie Su prizes will be awarded for two platform session presentations and one poster presentation. The May Kin Ho and Michael Dean prize will be awarded for a poster session presentation.  Additionally, poster session prizes will be awarded to Graduate Studies presentations by the School of Graduate Studies.

Other schools/departments or programs may award prizes or fellowships and may use the scoring mechanism set up by the Graduate School.

The School of Graduate Studies will competitively award a number of travel prizes ranging from $250 to $1000.
