2026 Annual Research Day Awards
What fantastic posters and oral talks that highlighted the talents and successes of
our trainees! There were 152 presentations by trainees, postdocs, and residents across
all of Downstate.
Thank you very much to all those involved with presenting, discussing, and judging
the presentations. The experience is invaluable for the presenters, as it not only
provides an opportunity to hone their presentation skills, but also an opportunity
to receive constructive feedback for their projects' next steps. Hopefully, some presenters
even made a connection or two that could lead to new collaborations.
As you know, SGS student presenters were eligible for prizes. Faculty praised both
the high quality of the oral and poster presentations. Well done, students! The scores
were close, which made it clear that the judges had a tough job. Nevertheless, the
scoring resulted in the following awards. Also, as noted, some of the awards include
funding that can be used for travel to an SGS-approved conference. Congratulations to the awardees!
