Emergency Medicine / Internal Medicine Combined Program
Dr. Joshua Schechter, M.D. EM/IM Program Director
We offer training for board eligibility in both Emergency and Internal medicine. Located
in the center of Brooklyn, New York City’s largest borough, we offer an unparalleled
training experience in one of the busiest emergency departments in the country with
active in-patient and out-patient services in a tertiary care center. The Emergency
medicine residency is one of the largest residencies in the country with a national
reputation and a focus on diversity, leadership, research, and clinical acumen. The
Internal medicine department is one of the largest academic departments in the country
with 13 academic training programs, a diverse faculty, and fellowships in all major
subspecialties.
We are looking for applicants to become part of our diverse residency program with
an interest in serving our underserved community, leadership, and training in a fast
paced clinically rich environment.
It is a 5 year integrated program at the conclusion of which graduates are board-eligible
for both emergency medicine and internal medicine.
We accept 4 applicants per year.
