Eugene B. Feigelson Merit-Based Scholarship Award for 2011

We are happy to announce that the 2011 recipient of the Eugene B. Feigelson Merit-Based Scholarship Award was presented to Damali B. Adu.

Damali Adu was born in the Bronx, but now lives in Queens, New York. She attended one year of undergraduate college at Howard University before transferring to Wesleyan University after her freshman year. She graduated from Wesleyan in 2003 with a BA degree and a major in neuroscience and behavior. Following her graduation, she remained at Wesleyan for one year, earning her MA degree in neuroscience and then completed premedical requirements at CUNY City College. She entered SUNY Downstate in Fall, 2007 and will graduate this May, 2011. During medical school, she was an anatomy coordinator in the summer Operation Success program, and a junior and senior volunteer in the student operated Brooklyn Free Clinic. She also participated in a health fair sponsored by our student chapter of the Student National Medical Association. She is going into an Internal Medicine-Emergency Medicine residency (EM-IM) at Henry Ford Health Science Center in Michigan.
